LHAND’s Planning and Development Office works in close coordination with the City of Lynn and the Community Development Office to deliver and administer several grants aimed at providing citizens with a myriad of services.

Gateway Residences on Washington

Construction began in September of 2016 on this project that will be completed by April of 2018. The project consists of 71 rental units along with 2,000 square feet of retail space. This project is the culmination of endeavors put forth by the private sector, the City of Lynn, legislators and community leaders. Not only will this project transform the neighborhood with which it is situated but will give a completely new look on the Washington Street corridor starting at the water and extending into the downtown.

Transformative Development Initiative (TDI)

LHAND along with the City and other various partners were designated as one of 10 TDI districts in the state. TDI seeks to enhance local public-private engagement and community identity; stimulate an improved quality of life for local residents; and spur increased investment and economic activity. TDI Fellow Joe Mulligan is into his third and final year of assisting Lynn with extensive experience to make these hopes a reality.

With its proximity to Boston, including the popular commuter ferry and a vibrant arts and culture scene, the One Lynn District will be the next great place to buy a home as well as be a top destination for unique arts-based retail and diverse restaurant scene in the region.
