The Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) Program is the only Federal program dedicated to the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS. Under the HOPWA Program, HUD makes grants to local communities, States, and nonprofit organizations for projects that benefit low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Lynn will award approximately $623,055 subject to final appropriation from the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program of the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds will be allocated for FY 2022-2023 to eligible sub-recipients that provide housing and related services to residents and families within Essex County in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Lynn, as the sub-recipient of the City of Cambridge, will administer this program through The Lynn Housing Authority & Neighborhood Development (LHAND). The HOPWA program addresses the specific needs of low-income persons medically diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and their families. HOPWA funds may be used for a wide range of housing, social services, program planning and development costs within Essex County.
The originally planned Public Hearing to be held on Tuesday March 8, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at LHAND’s Library Room located at 10 Church Street Lynn MA 01902, has been moved to a virtual meeting via Zoom at the request of all of the respondents.
