Wall Plaza

The M. Henry Wall Plaza was built in 1967 as Federal Senior Housing by the Lynn Housing Authority. The Wall Plaza Program provides subsidized housing for low income seniors and disabled residents. Wall Plaza consists of 176 one bedroom units with full kitchens in each unit. Available for residents, there are several community spaces along with laundry facilities on site.

The Wall Plaza Manager and Resident Services Coordinator who can both be found on site, work closely with residents to assist them with a variety of activities. Needs including arranging transportation to doctor’s offices, pharmacy’s and supermarkets can be met. Throughout the year the Lynn Housing Authority and Neighborhood Development will host a variety of trips, cook-outs and gatherings for the Wall Plaza Residents.

Community Service and Self Sufficient Policy

The Community Service and Self-Sufficiency Requirement (CSSR) is mandated by Congress as a part of the Public Housing Reform Act of 1998. This law requires that every adult resident (18 or older) in public housing contribute or participate for eight (8) hours each month in a community service or a self-sufficiency activity or combination of both, as a condition of receipt of Federal housing assistance.
